Legendary Pals and the ones breeding cannot reach

The game marks exactly 6 Pals as Legendary. Most lists say five, some say seven, and the disagreement comes from measuring the wrong thing.

What counts as Legendary, and why the number keeps changing

Legendary is not a label the game prints on a Pal, so lists are written from whatever looks close enough, and they disagree. There is a precise answer in the data: a Pal is Legendary if it is born carrying the Legend passive, which grants attack, defence and movement speed all at plus 20 percent. Nothing else in the game hands out that passive at birth. By that test there are exactly 6.

The two proxies people reach for instead both fail, and this page used to use one of them. Counting Pals with no mixed breeding pair gives 26, which includes Green Slime and Cave Bat at rarity 3 along with every tower boss. Counting the top rarity tier gives 8, which adds Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero: raid bosses that sit at the same tier and carry no Legend passive. Both sets are worth knowing, and both are below, but neither is the answer to the question.

The 6 Legendary Pals

Every one of these is born with the Legend passive. Paldeck order.

One of them is breedable, and only one. Frostallion Noct has a fixed pair. The rest need two of their own species, so the first has to be caught.

Why some Pals resist breeding entirely

Breeding can never produce something rarer than the rarer of the two parents. That single rule is what protects the top of the roster: no ladder of ordinary pairs will ever climb to a legendary. For 26 species the game goes further and leaves no mixed pair pointing at them at all. The only pairing that yields one is two of that same species, so you must catch your first in the world, then a second, before the farm is any use to you.

This is worth knowing before you spend Cake. If you are hunting one of the Pals below, no amount of pairing will shortcut it. Check any pair in the calculator before you commit a farm slot to it.

The tower bosses moved into this group. Guides written before the July 2026 release still list pairings for Grizzbolt, Lyleen, Orserk, Faleris, Shadowbeak, Selyne and Bastigor. We checked all of them against the current game data and none of those pairings work any more. Shaolong, new with the release, has no mixed pair either, which makes eight of the nine tower boss Pals same species only. The ninth, Astralym, is absent from the breeding data entirely, so it has no pairing of any kind. Each of the eight now needs two of its own species, so the farm cannot give you a first one. More on why charts went stale.

Top rarity tier (8)

These sit at rarity 20, the game's highest tier. It is a near miss for Legendary rather than a synonym for it: the tier holds 2 more Pals than the Legend passive does, and those extras are raid bosses. This is the set most published lists are actually counting when they arrive at a number above 6.

Every Pal with no mixed pair (26)

Sorted by breeding value, lowest first. This is the set to check before spending Cake, and it is a mixture: the 6 Legendary Pals, eight of the nine tower boss Pals, and a handful of oddities that are simply handed to you another way. Gumoss (Variant) is the clearest of those, with a thoroughly ordinary breeding value of 2950 and still no mixed pair, which has nothing to do with power. Note that the Paldeck holds a second, common Gumoss that is breedable from 51 pairs, so a chart that lists only one Gumoss is answering about the wrong one.
