Why these results are exact

Most breeding pages explain the same shortcut: average the two parents and take the Pal whose hidden breeding value sits closest. That rule is real, but on its own it reproduces only about four in five results, because it says nothing useful about what happens when two species sit an equal distance from the average, and nothing at all about the combinations the game hardcodes.

So this calculator does not run that rule. It looks the pair up in the finished result table extracted from the game data, all 44850 of them, which is the same data the game itself uses. Ties, the 83 fixed pairs, the 26 Pals you cannot breed from a mixed pair and the 2 pairs whose answer depends on which parent is male are all already baked in.

If you want the reasoning behind the numbers, the breeding guide walks through the mechanic, and the unique combos list covers the pairs that ignore the maths entirely.

What you need before you can breed

  • A Breeding Farm placed at your base, which needs Cake to run. One Cake is consumed per egg, so Cake is the real bottleneck rather than the Pals themselves.
  • One male and one female of the two species you want to pair. Gender is fixed when a Pal is caught or hatched, so a species you only have in one gender cannot be paired with itself.
  • Patience with the rarest Pals. 26 species have no mixed pair at all, so the only way to hatch one is to already own two of them.

Breeding numbers on this page come from the Palworld game data tables, build v26, prepared 2026-07-25, covering all 299 Pals. Generated from tylercamp/palcalc pinned at commit b4f6e3d.
