When did Season 15 start and when does it end?
Blizzard's BlizzCon 2026 recap states that Season of Hell's Legacy begins rolling out on September 15, 9:30 a.m. PT. The update behind it is patch 3.2.1, build 73552, dated on all platforms. On launch day a login problem kept the Seasonal Realm closed for several hours; Blizzard's first hotfix, posted that afternoon, reads "Resolved an issue preventing players from logging in. The Seasonal Realm is now available", and Solo Self Found stayed off until the third hotfix on .
The end date has not been announced. Blizzard's season overview, the official season page and the patch notes give no closing date, so this page does not guess one. The season history shows how long every previous season ran, if you want a feel for the usual length.

What is the seasonal questline about?
The season picks up the Season of Death Awakening story: the dead are rising from Pandemonium, and the lost soul of Deckard Cain returns with news that three dark wanderers have come back, each a former vessel of a Prime Evil. Cain guides you into their fractured memories to lay their souls to rest.
Completing the questline means defeating echoes of Diablo beneath Tristram Cathedral, Baal at Arreat Summit and Mephisto within the Durance of Hate, and collecting the three Splinters of Evil. Blizzard's What's Next panel adds that the Waking Nightmares revisit settings from Diablo I, Diablo: Hellfire, Diablo II, Diablo III and Diablo Immortal, with nearly twenty returning bosses such as Nihlathak and the Maggot Queen, and heroes such as Leah.

What are Waking Nightmares?
Waking Nightmares are three kinds of encounter that rebuild key moments from Diablo's past with updated visuals and encounters designed for Diablo IV:
- The largest are multi level, Capstone style dungeons that recreate the showdowns with the Prime Evils. You meet them first in the questline, then replay them on Torment levels. Like all Capstones they have a fixed difficulty, and at Torment 10 and above they open as pinnacle Capstones for bigger loot.
- The second type are standard length dungeons at fixed locations in the world, recreating places such as the Den of Evil from Diablo II.
- The smallest appear suddenly in the open world: a one room encounter with a past boss such as the giant spider Queen Araneae, or waves of monsters such as dagger wielding Flayers.
Beating the most difficult Waking Nightmares can award a rare resource that lets you switch which Splinter of Evil you bear, which is how you change reputation tracks during the season.

How do the Splinters of Evil work?
Once you hold the three Splinters of Evil you choose one Prime Evil's power to bear and become a dark wanderer yourself. An Iconic Power tied to that Prime Evil periodically erupts during combat: Fire damage for Diablo, Cold damage for Baal, Physical damage for Mephisto. The Splinter also makes you more vulnerable to that same Prime Evil.
Each Splinter has its own reputation track with eight activity modifiers and six upgrades to the Iconic Power, unlocked through War Plans:
| Splinter | Prime Evil | Iconic Power damage | Modifies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Splinter of Terror | Diablo | Fire | Helltide and Infernal Hordes |
| Splinter of Destruction | Baal | Cold | The Undercity and Lair Bosses |
| Splinter of Hatred | Mephisto | Physical | The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons |
| All three | Tree of Whispers |
You can bear only one Prime Evil Splinter at a time. To pursue a different track, return to the largest Waking Nightmares and acquire another Splinter.

What are Soul Splinters?
Soul Splinters are the season's special gems, each tied to a demon or artifact. Being demonic, each offers a powerful boon and carries a liability. You can equip up to three Soul Splinters among your jewelry slots. They drop as Magic, Rare, Legendary or Unique, and Amalgamation in the Horadric Cube upgrades Splinters of the same type and rarity to the next rarity.
| Soul Splinter | Associated with |
|---|---|
| Splinter of Anguish | Andariel |
| Splinter of Sin | Azmodan |
| Splinter of Lies | Belial |
| Splinter of the Black Soulstone | The Black Soulstone |
| Splinter of Pain | Duriel |
| Splinter of the Mother | Lilith |
| Splinter of Hellfire | Na-Krul |
| Splinter of Damnation | Skarn |
Which legacy Uniques are new?
Nine Uniques based on items from earlier Diablo games arrive this season. They are permanent additions on both the Seasonal and Eternal realms, not seasonal powers. Those marked as charms can also be crafted into Unique Charms.
| Item | Slot | Classes | Also a Unique Charm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leoric's Crown | Helm | All classes | No |
| Nemesis Bracers | Gloves | All classes | Yes |
| Stone of Jordan | Ring | All classes | Yes |
| Sirloin of the Bovine | Legs | All classes | No |
| Arioc's Needle | Two handed polearm | Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn | Yes |
| Henri's Perquisition | Offhand focus | Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock | Yes |
| In-Geom | One handed sword | Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock | Yes |
| The Furnace | Two handed mace | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock | Yes |
| Messerschmidt's Reaver | Two handed axe | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock | No |

Launch fixes. The 3.2.1 notes list PTR fixes for several of these (In-Geom's cooldown reduction was 12 seconds instead of 15, Henri's Perquisition had an extra Thorns affix, Messerschmidt's Reaver had wrong class restrictions), and hotfix 2 on September 17 fixed Messerschmidt's Reaver healing enemies and Splinter of the Mother not clearing its stacks with Leoric's Crown.
What are Unique Charms and Mythic Charms?
Patch 3.2.1 lets 22 Unique items be crafted into Unique Charms: sixteen existing ones (Ae'grom's Schism, Eye of Baal, Gospel of the Devotee, Grasp of Shadow, Hand of Apotheosis, Hellhound's Sabatons, Infernal Homunculus, Rictus of Terror, Shard of Verathiel, Signet of Pelghain, The Basilisk, The Hemat Stone, The Mortacrux, The Third Blade, Thundergod's Blessing, Vox Omnium) and six of the new legacy Uniques (Arioc's Needle, Henri's Perquisition, In-Geom, Nemesis Bracers, Stone of Jordan, The Furnace).
Mythic Charms were confirmed at the What's Next panel: they have a small chance to drop whenever a Unique charm drops. The Horadric Reroll recipe above works on Unique and Mythic charm powers without changing them.
What are Rebirth and the Horadric Post?
Rebirth
Rebirth converts an Eternal character to the Seasonal realm at level 1, so you can continue a character's identity instead of rolling a fresh one each season. It keeps class, name, appearance and state (Normal or Hardcore), and, when saved as part of an ensemble, cosmetic preferences: transmogs and pigments, mounts and accessories, pets, portals and headstones. The game also keeps a running tally of hours played across all of a character's Rebirths.
Everything the character carries is lost on Rebirth, so move gear into the Eternal stash first. The game warns you, offers to remove or destroy remaining items, and will not let you Rebirth until nothing is equipped or in the personal inventory.

Horadric Post
The Horadric Post is a one way delivery system that lets the Diablo IV team send rewards, supplies and commemorative items directly to your account, with a message attached.

What are the Season Rank rewards and Season Blessings?
Season Rank has nine ranks and 125 objectives this season. Blizzard's list of what they award:
- Up to 14 Skill Points and up to 42 Paragon points
- Up to 10 Resplendent Sparks, plus those inside Mythic Caches
- 5 Mythic Unique Caches
- Dark Wanderbear pet and the Banner of the Three Mount Trophy
- 2 Emblems, 2 Titles (Deckard's Confidant), 4 Title Laurels
- Crafting and Masterworking materials, currency, Lair Boss Keys, and caches with gear, Runes, Sigils, Talisman Charms and Seals
Expansion requirement. Blizzard's footnote: approximately 15% of Seasonal Objectives require the Lord of Hatred expansion, including objectives needed to complete Rank VIII and earn all Season Rank rewards. Which classes need which expansion covers what each expansion unlocks.
Smoldering Ashes come from Seasonal Objectives and Chapter Rewards and buy five Season Blessings:
| Urn | Effect |
|---|---|
| Urn of Curiosities | Higher chance of a second item when buying from the Purveyor of Curiosities |
| Urn of Reclamation | Higher chance of rare materials from salvage |
| Urn of Masterworking | Higher chance of extra Obducite drops |
| Urn of Glyphs | Chance of an extra upgrade when improving glyphs |
| Urn of Ancestral Whispers | Higher chance of an Ancestral Cache when turning in Whispers |
What about the Battle Pass, Twitch drops, Game Pass and The Witcher 3?
The free Season of Hell's Legacy Reliquary offers the Eidolon Mount, Eidolon's Barding mount armor, the Ancient Town Portal, three weapon transmogs and 200 Platinum in two lots of 100. For the first time the Armor Reliquary holds a different armor set for each class. The Premium Battle Pass Bundle costs 1,000 Platinum (the same Reliquaries cost 1,500 bought one by one) and completing them earns the Archangel of Justice set; the Deluxe Battle Pass Bundle, 2,800 Platinum, unlocks that set at once and adds the Lordling of Terror pet and the Wings of Justice. Favor carries over between seasons and caps at 99 tokens.
- Twitch: watch any Diablo IV stream for 2 hours between and to earn the Deforestation Two-Handed Axe cosmetic.
- Xbox Game Pass: linking an active Game Pass subscription to Battle.net unlocks over 50 cosmetics across all classes, including mount trophies, a town portal, an emblem and a headstone. Already owned items are skipped.
- The Witcher 3: to mark The Witcher 3 coming to Battle.net, players who pre purchase Songs of the Past on Battle.net, or buy it after launch, get a Geralt themed skin in Diablo IV.
- Divine Bovine Community Challenge: from BlizzCon until the world boss was replaced by Moophisto; 300,000 community defeats would unlock the Moomento Mori Mount Trophy for everyone in Season of Hell's Legacy.
Which classes changed with the season?
Every class has changes in 3.2.1. Barbarian's core stat scalar drops from 1.1 to 0.8, while Druid, Necromancer, Paladin and Sorcerer rise from 1.25 to 1.625. Paladin's Judgement now scales with the rank of the skill that applied it, Sorcerer's Cold builds are buffed, Spiritborn's Tzic Rune bug is fixed with the Aspect of Supremacy cap halved, and Warlock's Overwhelming Aspect and Metamorphosis are pruned. The patch 3.2.1 page goes through every section, including the item, crafting and Torment changes and the three hotfixes.
