The best WoW companion app in 2026 depends on the job. VaultAlts covers the Great Vault and weekly progress of every character on your account, RealmMate a roster with WoW Token alerts, Guild HQ a guild's raid roster, WoWSkill PvP and Mythic+ lookups, and Blizzard's Battle.net app chat and the Authenticator. Blizzard's own WoW Companion App has been gone since July 23, 2024.

Every app below was checked on the App Store and Google Play on September 21, 2026, and is credited with what its own listing says. The three official apps that no longer exist, and that older lists still recommend, are covered further down.

Which WoW companion apps still exist in 2026?

Ten apps. One is Blizzard's, the other nine are fan made and read the same public Blizzard API. The last column is the update date each store showed on September 21, 2026; an app that has not moved since the last season change is worth a second look before you trust its numbers.

Store descriptions are the source for the middle column, so each app is credited with what its own listing claims and nothing more. VaultAlts is the only one of the ten whose listing describes Great Vault tracking for every character on the account; Guild HQ shows the vault for one main, and RealmMate's listing does not mention the vault. Raider.IO, Wowhead and Warcraft Logs are websites: none of the three has an app under its name in either store.

Which WoW companion apps are gone?

Three apps by Blizzard, and any list that still recommends one of them is out of date. None can be downloaded, and the WoW Companion App stopped connecting the morning after The War Within pre-patch.

Two limits apply to every fan made app in the table. The Blizzard API they read is read only, so none of them can chat in game, move gold, post auctions or change anything on your account. And VaultAlts covers retail characters only: Classic, Hardcore and Anniversary realms do not appear in it. Whether the other apps read Classic realms is not stated in their listings, except Arena Armory on iOS, a lookup app built only for Burning Crusade Anniversary realms.

Frequently asked questions

Does the WoW Companion App still work in 2026?

No. Blizzard announced on April 24, 2024 that the app would stop working with The War Within pre-patch, the patch went live on July 23, 2024, and the app has not connected since. It is no longer on the App Store or Google Play.

Is there an official WoW app in 2026?

Not for your characters. Blizzard's only WoW related phone app is Battle.net, which covers friends, chat, news, the shop and the Authenticator. Everything about characters, vaults and keys comes from fan made apps that read Blizzard's public API.

Which WoW companion app tracks the Great Vault?

VaultAlts tracks all nine vault slots for every character on your account, with six weeks of history. Guild HQ shows the vault for one main character. The other apps in the table do not mention the vault in their listings.

Is there a WoW mount tracker app?

Two. VaultAlts shows your account wide mount, pet and toy totals with the full searchable list of what you own, on iOS, Android and the web. Warcraft Collections on Android shows the same three collections for any character you search and lets you compare with other characters.

Are these apps safe to log into?

VaultAlts uses Blizzard's own login page (OAuth) and receives read only access to your characters; your password never reaches it, and you can revoke the access at any time under Connections at account.battle.net. Guild HQ states that it needs no login at all, and WoWSkill and Mythic Codex look characters up by name.
